The use of an adequate design and material for the rubber stopper in syringes will assure the best sealing pressure and a preferable calibrated amount of friction against surfaces. LSRs low compression set and superior strength make the material ideal for syringe stoppers. Our automated high-precision injection molding technology assures consistent, repeatable, high-quality parts with no variability. Optimization through inline assembly or direct overmolding may also be beneficial and will reduce assembly costs and errors.

There is also the option for overmolded valves which will provide many more benefits than merely simplifying complicated assemblies. With the correct materials one may allow for surfaces to strongly bond and other surfaces to be non-stick, allowing one shot movable components that could never be assembled under conventional methods.

Flow Control Valves
The high precision of injection molded LSR, enables the manufacturing of perfectly uniform components directly out of the machine. The flexibility of the material is ideal for valves which need to yield under pressure but fully close when pressure is released. These valves are precisely and consistently in-mold slit for a perfect contact seal.
Multi-Component Metal/Plastic to LSR Parts
Multi-component molding offers the benefit of improving quality and consistency of the parts. Complicated assemblies are eliminated by direct mechanical and chemical bonding of the materials reducing time and costs. Typical examples are overmolded handles on hand held surgical tools where the material may be sterilized, autoclaved, and will provide better feel for precision and added grip strength or multi-component connectors with integrated valves and seals.
Connectors and Caps
With the countless options for connectors and applications it is beneficial to work with a material that will form into any shape, have different grades of strength and elasticity, and which may be chemically and/or mechanically bonded onto plastic and metals as applications may require.
Liquid Silicone rubber catheter tubing has been in use for more than 10 years. Its main benefits for this application include high purity, transparency, flexibility and inertness.
LSR provides the required dimensional stability, high transparency and/or Â purity required for such applications. LSR Diaphragm components have been approved and used for more than six years.
Infusion Pumps and Dialysis Filters
Applications for infusion pumps and dialysis include connectors, seals, gaskets, and impellers. Due to the versatility, along with the sustained physical and mechanical properties when exposed to many different substances and environmental conditions, LSR may be used for internal components which may be in contact with chemicals, blood, human fluids or in any external application where the superior physical properties may be necessary.
LSR high-compression set hypoallergenic materials may be used as pull rings providing not only the benefit of the high purity but also the correct mechanical properties to yield under given applied pressures.
For extreme temperature applications where many rubber seals, or TPE overmolded components would age and fail in time, liquid silicone rubber provides long-lasting, non-aging, excellent mechanical properties that will have minimal variance throughout a vast range of temperatures. The material can be autoclaved, steam sterilized, and gamma radiated.
Precision Equipment Vibration Dampers
In many medical applications today such high precision electronic or mechanical equipments like surgical cutting tools it is very common to use vibration dampers. By placing LSR as an overmolded layer, a seal, or strategically positioned at points in a device, the rubber material will reduce or dampen vibrations.
Gaskets, Seals and O-rings
LSRs provide the highest purity and inertness against many chemicals and solutions while maintaining their low mechanical aging and low compression set and stress relaxation. From seals for electronic equipments, valves or casings, to pressurized medical device applications liquid silicone rubber will outperform many other rubbers.
